How role-playing like some in Guatemala taught me about friendship and loneliness

On Thursday and Friday, my class went to a place called Heifer Farm run by Heifer International. This particular group is a charity organization that instead of donating cans of cans and rice, you donate animals and education for them. The goal of Heifer is to end poverty and world hunger while being helpful to the earth. They gave helped more than 12 million people since their foundation in 1947.

Because Heifer wants people to be sweet angels and not selfish jerks, they spread their message to the world. One of these ways is the Heifer farm, in Rutland, Massachusetts. Here you get to stay in one of the lovely recreations of the houses they have on the farm.
My group stayed in a houses representing Guatemala. It was a one room houses with a rocky floor and no heat nor light. The room itself wasn’t spacious and the beds were too crowded to each other. So us 5 has to slept in this house for one night at below freezing temperatures. We also have to cook our own food too, but it was outside. Let me tell you one thing about fire making, the wind is an even jerk than your bully next door. And the floor was wet so it made it worst. The fire took 3 hours to make and the food we got wasn’t that tasty, but it did get the work done, as we were hungry.

The experience at Heifer maybe at tad uncomfortable but it was fun at the same time. Inhere, the strangers actually talk to other people. Our humble group of six talk about random stuff like shows we watch, theoretical physics, school, our home countries, and the trip in general. Sure I was still the most quiet person, as usual but I did enjoyed myself with my group or should I say family. I was a mother who have a water balloon, yes a water balloon. I gotta say that i did a decent job with him. His name was Smelly Jr. Ugly name that is named after a vendor in the make-believe market where we bought our food. Yeah, they tried to recreate the feeling of living like someone in a developing nation. The role-playing aspect even went a far as only one person could read in the house, so one girl pretty much rule the entire home. But she was cool.

After all of this, we went home to our lives but the experience is still in my mind and heart. I haven’t felt been part of a group this close in a while. It felt like my actions did help people and i felt so good for that. See I have self-esteem issues that sometimes my mind tells me  that I’m useless to anyone else and should be drifted away. Maybe this is why I  tend to be so lonely and shy That’s why I want to help people, so that feelings could be kept at bay. Now those feelings are still in the harbor, but they are waiting to leave out to the open sea.

This whole trip really gave me a feeling of warmth and friendship and belonging from strangers  that in my experience rarely happens. I realize how important is to be with a group, that no one should be alone, only getting some warmth and them been left alone again. Humans need one another to thrive and survive. Sure, you don’t need to be party animal, but we need to work together to do process. That’s how humanity managed to pwned all animals on the planet.

Every human plays a role in this world, but we still deserve  our own happiness, without at the expense of others because that will disrupt the balance in this world. Like a great anime say, “All is one and one is All”

Smash DLC: Some Ideas

Super Smash Bros, a series that brings joy to millions across the globe. It can be played in multiple of ways, from a fun party time to a national tournament that is payed with real cash and not Skittles™.   Note that any of these ideas mentioned in these post will not likely come to fruition. But we can dream.

For those who don’t know anything about Smash. It a fighting game series where you play as Nintendo All Stars like Mario, Link, Kirby and Pikachu, where they beat each living cell in them. It an awesome game series.
Now, since Smash is getting DLC, there’s lots of opportunities for it, besides characters, Mii™ costumes and stages. I’m leaving characters later. I say there can be new modes to be added to the game. Considering tourney mode is in the game, I’ll will not be surprised if a new one comes out. I want to play with the modes, if one comes as DLC. So, I came with some fun ideas and bringing some old ones.

For Regular matches, how about Damage Match? In this type of match, you objective is to rack as much damage as possible. Kills doesn’t matter in this mode. So, Little Mac™ might be god in this mode. I also though to bring back Race to the Finish from Super Smash Bros Melee.   In this minigame, you have limited time to go to one of the many exits in the place. The farther the exit, the higher your points. Add a eerie but awesome design and a heart pumping track and it be a nice gift for fans that owned a little purple cube back in the day. Talking about comebacks: For fans of the Super Smash Bros 64   bring Board The Platforms. Each character gets his/her own stage and they have to touch all platforms to win. This might be problematic to put into the game, but it could work. The same could go for Break the Targets (Melee).  In here, each character gets his/her stage and has to break giant targets to win, if if times goes out or the player dies, then they lose. Both would be nice but unlucky.  For entirely new modes, I can’t think of any. Smash Run(3DS), Smash Tour and Special Orders are great, so I’m leaving to you guys for that, to think of something.

I thought of several items to use. The bicycle from the Pokemon series would be cool. You hop into one and you are able to ride it across the stage. Things you could do include: jumping, crashing over others, using as a third jump for those with only two jumps and more. The bike will disappear after a while or getting off and you can be mounted off by being hit 3 times. So basically Wario’s motorcycle but with more speed and higher risk. Another item is a whip. A item with long range, you can use it either as a weapon or as a part of your recovery. Think of like a hookshot from Link. Ice flowers from the Super Mario series. You freeze opponents. Simple. My brother once though of multiple Final Smashes for the game. I think that would be awesome. Think, Final Smashes are the ultimate attack for a character activated by a over glorified pinata called a Smash Ball.  So why not have multiple of them, since some are less than favorable, well at least in my opinion. I can’t think of Assist trophies or Pokeballs, so leave  a comment on what you think.

So that warps up my ideas for Smash DLC. Personally, I don’t think any of these will come true, but its fun to type about.

Don’t leave yet! Because today is my first poll of this blog. Its about which character should be include as DLC. Bye!

Failed Prophecies, Aliens , and The Art of Drawing

The moon that is just a rare celestial (and grand) celestial event, but it scare little kids and pets worldwide

Hola! (Hello in Spanish)

September 27th, 2015 was the day that the rare event of a super moon and a lunar eclipse happen. the planet has seen such event back in 1982, when the internet was still a novelty. We won’t see this until 2033, when we get apparently internet chips in our brains or something. Sure some people in the weird but darkly fun part of the internet say this was the “Blood Moon Prophecy” which was mention in the Bible from what I can gather about four lunar eclipses and a solar eclipse that will signal the end of times. Well, apparently it was wrong and we are alive. Or if the liquid water evidence recently found on Mars means that intelligent aliens are gonna attacks us and we have to fight them in a Evangelion-like fashion, then the those cultists and doom speakers online were actually right for once. But that’s not gonna happen as realistically, we might find microbial life. Don’t get your hopes up.

This tool saves lives

Seeing that beautiful lunar eclipse super moon at 10:40 pm that night was really something, something that looks it perfect to think  draw it. Yeah, I’m a artist, a cartoonist to be specifically.  I have been getting back into drawing lately after I have stalled this hobby for three weeks for some reason. But, I have to say, that drawing is one of the closest things that real life has to being God in some ways, with writing, and creating music coming close. It’s very relaxing, especially if you are mad after a flame war about some trivial topic like anime dubs with dumb or ignorant people fighting “smobs”( a portmanteau of smart and snob) or pseudo-intellectuals, with the calm and respectable people being hard to find in such happenings. Whatever, drawing is really awesome as it lets you creates literally infinite ideas with strokes of your #2 pencil. It also gives this feeling of achievement after spending 2 hours trying to get you art just right and not underwhelming cause you can do better, even if you say no. This quote from somewhere in the continent of Africa summarizes the feeling of doing practicing and achieving awesomeness.

“If you wish to move mountains, start by lifting stones today.”

Art (in general) is also a great expressing tool. See, if you feel any emotion you want to express, just pick a pencil, brush, clay, or musical instrument  and let your thoughts fly and dance as you feel better ’cause  of it.

さようなら Sayoonara (formal way to say bye in Japanese)

Japanese , School and me.

Konnichi Wa,

The title in this page means hello in Japanese. Well, in the afternoon at least, just how we have good morning good afternoon and good evening in English( they are formal but it doesn’t matter). You know the language I’m typing in. Whatever my school is great so far, it is my first year in it after all. I really enjoy learning Japanese, even if it has the same amount of rules as there are stars in the galaxy, just like learning English. Talking about language, yeah I’m bilingual, speaking both English and Spanish.

Spanish is my mother tongue, coming from the coast of Peru. Yeah I’m Peruvian and learning a East Asian Language in my new school. I’m not unique in that regard, as there are many people from Hispanic, or heck even Peruvian backgrounds learning Japanese in my school. But I’m somewhat special in my school as no one from my previous school is in here. When i heard of this, I was scared, since there’s going to be post-puberty monsters along with fragile flowers like me, even if I’m tall and sadly overweight. But at least the people in here are very nice to the new kids coming here. And those kids come from many towns so there are many people from my adopted hometown.

Wow, I  went off topic. Oh wait forgot to introduce myself. I’m Ale, the writer of this blog. This is a very new experience for me and I want support and criticism for my blogs. I upload every other Thursday at 7:00pm. Don’t except any definite topic because this blog is all about my way to express some thoughts that pop into my head every other week. But except things like my daily life, anime/cartoons, school, news and other usual human girl stuff. So bye or in Japanese jaa nee!!
